How does Kintsugi AI handle tax calculations?

We don’t just remit the tax collected amount; our platform uses a more dynamic approach.

Updated over 2 months ago

At Kintsugi AI, we understand that tax calculations can be complex. That’s why we’ve developed a precise system to handle tax liabilities—ensuring accuracy and compliance with all state regulations.

Our system compares the tax calculated by an integration and our platform and reconciles any differences as follows:

Both numbers are positive

If both our platform’s calculation and the integration’s calculation are positive, we remit the greater amount.

Both numbers are negative

If both numbers are negative (indicating a refund or adjustment), we remit the lesser amount.

One number is zero or null

If either our platform's calculation or the integration’s calculation is zero or null, we take the side with a value and remit its value.

Numbers have mixed signs

If one number is positive and the other is negative, we flag it as an error for review.

This method ensures that sales tax remittance is 100% compliant and reduces the risk of underpayment of liabilities.
