Why do I need to manage my own 2FA now?

We’re shifting to self-service so you can onboard faster and reduce delays caused by manual processes.


What is the Kintsugi 2FA email?

You’ll be prompted to enter a specific Virtual Mail Group ID for 2FA setup. This will be visible in your Kintsugi platform, just navigate to Configuration > Kintsugi Mail > Virtual Mail Group ID.


⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please make sure to add your personal or work email in the Virtual Mail Group. This is to ensure you continuously receive important updates and messages from state portals. Check out this help article on How to Manage Your Virtual Mail Group in the Kintsugi Platform to learn more.


Can I reuse the same browser session for multiple states?

Yes, just be sure to trust the browser during login to avoid being logged out between accounts.


I’m getting locked out of a state portal. What do I do?

Double-check your credentials. If you’re locked out, request a password reset from the state portal directly. If that fails, contact Kintsugi Support for help.

  • Make sure to click "Trust this device" when logging in. This minimizes code requests during setup.

  • Save your login credentials in a secure password manager.

  • Avoid logging out during setup to prevent timeouts.

  • If you're onboarding multiple states, repeat this process for each.
