Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for Kit
Updated over a year ago

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are a series of web accessibility guidelines that aim to make websites more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities - including auditory, cognitive, neurological, physical, speech, and visual disabilities. You can read more about WCAG here.

  • Kit's digital assets have been designed to meet Level A standards of WCAG. Level A criteria affects the broadest group of users with the most benefits and are essential.

  • The MUI library components in Kit have been built to meet Level AA standards of WCAG. Level AA criteria establishes a level of accessibility that works for more users, including those who use assistive technology.

  • The text editing components in Kit (i.e. lesson plans, note taking, etc...) follows best practices established in WCAG and is compatible with screen readers and other assistive technologies.

The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) will be posted in the future to show which accessibility standards Kit currently meets.
