Think of Topics like tabs in a binder. You can add a variety of information, including allergies, appointments, conditions, hospitalizations, ID cards, medications, practitioners, procedures, questions, vaccinations, notes, and files to any topic. And you can add any item to as many topics as you’d like for flexible organization in any way that works for you.

Here’s how to use them:

  1. Create or Edit Information:

    • Start by creating a new entry or editing an existing one.

    • Add your desired health information.

  1. Assign Topics:

    • Once you've finished adding or editing your information, you can switch to the Topics tab.

    • Here, you can click the “+” button to add a new Topic, or select from Topics you’ve already created.

    • To add the entry to a Topic, simply tick the check box.

    • You can add the entry to multiple Topics by checking multiple boxes.

  1. Create & Access Topics:

    • From any KinKeeper screen, you can click the Topic button along the bottom to directly access the Topics list and create new Topics.

    • You can view all of the info related to a Topic by clicking on it to open the folder.

  1. Search for Topics

  • Click the magnifying glass at the top of your KinKeeper screen.

  • Type in a keyword or the name of a Topic.

  • KinKeeper will display all the information that matches your search.

Tips for Effective Topic Usage:

  • Be Consistent: Use the same Topic names for similar content to maintain organization.

  • Use Labels that Make Sense to You : Using common words that mirror the way you think about topics will help you find information more quickly - for example, using Passing Out instead of “Vasovagal Syncope” .

By effectively using Topics, you can transform KinKeeper into a powerful tool for organizing and accessing your critical health information.
