Currently, KinKeeper does not have any built-in integrations with any medical record tools or apps like MyChart.
We understand that our medical records are a large part of our overall health picture, but we believe that it's not the only important piece to the puzzle. While there is technology that gives people access to their medical records, we felt there was not a home for the patient's side of the story. That's why we built KinKeeper!
But why didn't we do it anyway?
There are federal regulations that are scheduled to be enforceable in 2024 that will require medical records companies to provide access to patient owned tools like ours. Today's laws are different for patients wanting to access records than for doctors. Those laws currently would require us to contract and integrate with every doctor or health system individually, which is not practical (yikes!) and, unfortunately, is why this doesn't exist today.
In the meantime, we built KinKeeper to both support the work you're doing today to create the "binder" but in a digital, shareable format that allows you to download documents and pictures and take notes, but also prepare for the future where the medical records and your side of the story live in one place.
So, how can I use KinKeeper to store medical records?
Just because you can’t directly import them, doesn't mean you can't keep them in one place! In KinKeeper, you can upload a copy of any of the records that you'd like to keep. Often these are available in your patient portal to download, or can be requested by reaching out to your provider.
With KinKeeper, you can easily add your notes and context around the appointment as well. What was the reason for seeing that doctor? What changes were made to medications or diagnoses? What would you like to remember from the appointment? These important details help paint the full picture of your healthcare journey.
