Learn how to use built-in features of your phone to save text to notebooks in Kith + Kin

Updated over 8 months ago

Ready to start cutting the clutter of the stack of papers or hand-written notes from doctor's appointments and meetings with your child's teacher? With KinKeeper, you can file it away and always know it's there when you need to reference it later – wherever you are.

While you can take individual photos of each page and clutter your camera roll, why not scan the text and save it directly to a notebook so it's easy to search and find later.

Here's how to scan a multi-page document and store it in KinKeeper:

iPhone Users

  • Open the Camera app on your iPhone

  • Bring the text into the camera and the yellow frame appears around detected text, tap the scan text button in the bottom right corner

  • Tap "Copy"

  • Open KinKeeper and in the profile you’d like to add the note, tap the plus button to add a new note

  • Title your note and then tap on the text area, then tap "Paste"

  • Your text will now be saved! Add any other details or add the note to a Topic to organize it further

Android Users

  • Open your Camera app and point the phone at a document.

  • As you do this, the phone will recognize it’s a document and add highlighted borders in yellow, along with a “Scan” icon on the right side of the screen.

  • Select the words Tap to Scan and you’ll be prompted to draw the corners of the image to crop it. Tap the Save option.

  • Open KinKeeper and in the profile you’d like to add the note, tap the plus button to add a new note

  • Title your note and then tap on the text area, then tap "Paste"

  • Your text will now be saved! Add any other details or add the note to a Topic to organize it further
