Account Security: Password & Login

Written by Melisa | KNKY

The Security section in your agency dashboard is where you manage how you log in. This article covers what's currently available, how to change your password, what to do if you forget it, and how to keep your account safe.

What's in the Security section

In the agency dashboard sidebar, Security sits under the Account group (alongside My account and Support).

Today, the Security section contains:

  • Change password β€” update your login password from inside the dashboard

Changing your password

From inside the dashboard, when you know your current password:

  1. Open Security in the sidebar

  2. Click Change password

  3. Enter your current password for verification

  4. Enter your new password twice (the second field is for confirmation)

  5. Save

Your new password takes effect immediately.

Resetting a forgotten password

From the login page, when you can't remember your password:

  1. Go to the agency login page

  2. Click Forgot Password

  3. Enter your agency email

  4. Check your inbox (and spam folder β€” reset emails sometimes land there)

  5. Click the link in the email and set a new password

The reset link is valid for a limited time. If it expires before you use it, just request a new one from the same page.

πŸ’‘ Tip: If the reset email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, double-check the email address you typed and the spam folder. If it's still missing, contact support β€” your account may need a manual reset.

What if I think my account is compromised?

If you suspect someone else has accessed your agency account β€” unexpected emails about login activity, things changed in your dashboard you didn't do, creators or employees you don't recognize β€” act fast:

  1. Change your password immediately from the Security section, using a brand-new strong password you haven't used elsewhere

  2. Contact KNKY support as soon as possible. Share what you noticed (unexpected changes, suspicious emails) and the rough time you think the access happened. The team can help review activity and lock things down

  3. Review your team and creators β€” check the Employees and Creators sections to confirm nothing has been added, removed, or changed without your knowledge

  4. Change passwords on any other accounts that use the same password β€” if one is compromised, others are too

Staying secure: best practices for agency owners

Given that password is currently your only protection, a few habits help:

  • Use a unique password for KNKY that you don't use anywhere else

  • Make it long β€” length matters more than special characters. 16+ characters is a sensible minimum

  • Use a password manager β€” 1Password, Bitwarden, KeePass, your browser's built-in manager, etc. Never write the password in plain text or share it via chat

  • Don't share your login with employees β€” every team member should have their own employee account (see Complete Overview of Your Employees Section). Sharing logins defeats the entire role and audit system

  • Watch out for phishing β€” KNKY will never ask for your password via email, Telegram, or chat. If a message asks you to confirm your password or log in via a suspicious link, treat it as suspicious and contact support to verify

  • Log out when you're done on shared or public devices
