Managing your email notifications in Kno2 Connected™ apps

Written by Stacy Lane

Effective email notification management helps you stay informed about the activity that matters most while reducing inbox noise. This guide covers how to configure your notification preferences, what each setting does, and how to troubleshoot common issues.

Notification Types

User Notifications

New messages received: Receive an email any time a new message arrives that you are designated to view or process.

Administrator Notifications

New messages received: Receive an email any time a new message arrives that you are designated to view or process.

Unassigned message: Receive an email any time a new message is received and no Intake Rule or individual is designated to handle it.

Unprocessed messages: Receive an email when messages have remained unprocessed in your organization for longer than 24 hours.

Failed messages digest: Receive a once-daily summary email listing any failed messages that need to be acknowledged. Failed messages may occur due to technical issues such as busy fax lines or connection problems.

Note: The Notifications option previously available in this section has been deprecated and is no longer active.

Kno2 Connected™ App Notifications

If you are using Kno2 Connected™ through an EHR vendor integration, app-level notifications may be delivered via email from kno2connected@kno2.com or directly from your EHR vendor, depending on how your integration is configured. If you are unsure which source applies to your setup, check with your EHR vendor.

Configuring Your Notification Settings

Notification preferences are managed through your profile and can be enabled or disabled individually.

By default, all notifications are turned on when you first sign in, with the exception of the Failed messages digest.

Steps:

  1. Click your name in the upper right and select My Profile.

  2. Select Email Notifications from the left navigation.

  3. Locate the relevant notification category and check or uncheck the boxes for the notifications you want to enable or disable.

  4. Click Save Changes.

The same steps apply when managing notifications for incoming faxes specifically.

Allow up to 36 hours for changes to take effect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why am I getting "Unassigned New Message" notifications?

These are triggered when a message arrives without an intake rule or assigned individual to handle it. If these notifications aren't relevant to you, you can disable them by unchecking that option in your profile settings.

How do I troubleshoot persistent message failures?

Temporary failures caused by busy fax lines can often be resolved by resending. If the issue continues, gather key details such as the recipient fax number or the URL of the failed message and contact your EHR vendor support for further investigation.

Why do failed message notifications keep coming?

Failed message notifications continue until the messages are acknowledged or dismissed. To stop them, go to the Notifications tab (bell icon) in your Kno2 Connected™ app, select the Failed Messages tab, and use Dismiss All. You can also disable the Failed messages digest in your profile settings.

How do I make sure my notification settings stay current?

Review your preferences periodically in the Email Notifications section of your profile. Also make sure your email address on file is up to date to avoid missed notifications.

Troubleshooting Missing Notifications

If you have the correct settings enabled but aren't receiving expected emails, try the following:

Reset your password

If you previously requested a password reset but didn't complete it, this can interfere with notifications. Request a new reset and complete the process.

Check your spam or junk folder.

Notification emails may be filtered by your email provider.

Confirm your notification settings.

Verify that the appropriate options are enabled and that you've saved your changes.

Contact support.

If the issue persists after the steps above, reach out to your EHR vendor for further assistance.
