Creating Contacts in Hubspot

Written by John DiLoreto

Overview

This guide will walk you through the process of setting up a play in Knock2 to automatically create Contacts records in HubSpot when an exact match of a website visitor occurs. (Contact matches are only available in the US).

Before setting up a play, you must have connected HubSpot in the Knock2 App Marketplace (see guide).

Step 1: Creating a Play

  1. Navigate to Plays

    • Click on the Plays tab.

    • Select New Play.

    • Enter a name for your play, e.g., Identified Contacts to HubSpot.

  2. Define Play Source

    • Choose Contacts as the data source.

    • Define the filter and timing criteria

  3. Select Output

    • Choose Add Contact to HubSpot as the output action to ensure the Contact record is created in HubSpot.

  4. Review and Activate

    • Review your selections to confirm:

      • The play will trigger when a website visitor is identified and matches the criteria.

      • A Contact record will be created in HubSpot.

    • Click Submit to save the play.

    • If needed, you can disable the play after saving.

Results

  • When a website visitor matches the criteria, Knock2 will automatically create a Contact record in HubSpot.

  • The Deal Source will be set to Integration.

  • The Source Detail will indicate Knock2 as the origin.

This automation ensures that your sales team receives high-quality, identified website visitors directly in HubSpot, improving engagement and conversion rates.
