Email validation helps protect your sending reputation by ensuring you only use valid, deliverable business emails. Knock2 is intentionally designed to validate emails at the exact moment you need them, rather than relying on stale or outdated validation data.

This “last-mile” approach helps prevent bounces, spam flags, and domain issues while keeping credit usage efficient.

Why Email Validation Matters

Invalid or risky email addresses can lead to:

  • Higher bounce rates

  • Spam filtering or domain blocking

  • Poor deliverability and reputation damage

By validating emails right before you use them, Knock2 ensures your data stays fresh and reliable.

How Email Validation Works in Knock2

Email validation is available in two places:

  1. Manual validation from the Contacts tab

  2. Automatic validation inside Workflows

Option 1: Validate Emails from the Contacts Tab

You can manually validate individual business emails directly from the Contacts tab.

How it works

  1. Navigate to Contacts

  2. Locate a contact with a business email

  3. Click the circular validation icon next to the email address

  4. Knock2 validates the email in real time

Validation results

  • Green checkmark: Email is valid

  • Red X: Email is invalid

You can hover over the icon at any time to see the validation status.

Validation duration

  • Validation results persist for a limited period (typically 7–30 days)

  • After expiration, the email can be re-validated if needed

Option 2: Automatically Validate Emails in Workflows

Knock2 also supports automatic email validation inside Workflows.

Where to find it

  1. Create or edit a Workflow

  2. Choose Contacts as the source

  3. Proceed to the Enrichments step

Enable email validation

  • Toggle on Validate Emails

  • Knock2 will automatically validate each business email before continuing

What happens if an email is invalid

  • Invalid or unverified emails are skipped

  • Skipped records will not be sent to downstream outputs

Example:
If your workflow output is HubSpot, contacts with invalid emails will not be created in HubSpot.

Summary

  • Email validation is designed for real-time, last-mile accuracy

  • Validate manually from the Contacts tab or automatically in Workflows

  • Invalid emails are clearly marked and can be excluded from downstream actions
