When to use a custom campaign
Use a Custom Campaign when you want more control over your:
Budget allocation (daily, weekly, monthly, or custom).
Targeting (manual or automated).
Pacing and bidding strategy.
How to create a custom campaign
Follow these steps:
Go to the Campaigns tab on the left-hand bar.
Click + Create Campaign on the left-hand side.
Select Custom Campaign (last option) and click Next.
Enter your Campaign Settings, and click Next.
Enter your Ad Group Settings, click Save Ad Group, then Next.
Review all campaign details and click Launch Campaign.

Campaign settings
Campaign Name
Start & End Dates: Select a date range, or choose “Always On” to keep your campaign running until you manually stop it.
Budget Type & Amount - The bugdet
Daily: Spend limit resets every 24 hours.
Weekly: Spend limit resets each Monday.
Monthly: Spend limit resets each calendar month.
Custom: Define your own budget window.
Note: Budget is the maximum amount you are willing to spend for your campaign. All budgets reset at midnight Eastern Time (ET).
ROAS Goal: The Return on Ad Spend you want to achieve. Example: ROAS = 10 means $10 revenue for every $1 spent.
Pacing - define how often your budget should be spent when opportunities arise.
ASAP: Spend as quickly as opportunities come in.
Accelerated: Spend at a quicker rate than "Evenly," but not all at once. It prioritizes capturing more opportunities earlier in the day or campaign window, while still applying some distribution.
Evenly: Spread spend steadily across the campaign duration and throughout each day.
Bid Automation: Automatically optimizes bids to hit your ROAS and budget goals.
Ad group settings
Ad Group Name
Start & End Dates: Defaults to campaign dates.
Budget Type & Amount: Cannot exceed the campaign budget.
Base Bid: Max cost-per-click (CPC) you’re willing to pay. If automation is enabled, this is set for you.
Hotels - where you can select specific hotels you'd like to activate within your campaign and ad group settings.
Click Add Hotels > All Hotels
Tick the hotels you want to activate
Click Activate in Ad Group > Apply
Targeting (optional): Choose manual targeting to control visibility for certain searches. Learn how to set up targeting.
Targeting Automation: Automatically identifies high-value audiences for you.
Best practices
Keep budgets realistic to avoid underspending.
Start with automation if you’re new to campaign setup.
Always double-check that hotels are activated in your Ad Group.
