How do I create a book assignment?

Sending book assignments is a great way to ask students to prepare ahead of the next lesson. Of course, you can also create assignments and send them later!

Step 1: Click on the relevant subject and click on the 'Create Assignment' button on the teacher dashboard.

Step 2: Select 'Book Assignment'.

Step 3: Select the sections you want to assign to your students.

Step 4: Click 'Step 2'.

Set the assignment name, select the recipients (all students are selected by default), add any additional message, set a deadline, and hit the 'Review and Send' button.

Step 5: Should you not want to send the assignment right away, but would rather save it for later, simply on click the 'Finish later' button.

What happens once I have sent the assignment?

  • All recipients will receive an email notifying them that they have an assignment to complete. The assignment will also appear in the assignment dashboard when they log in.

  • When the deadline has passed, the assignment will be automatically marked and a report with the assignment results will be sent to your email.

    Book assignment features

  1. Data availability: All book assignment data is now available on one page. You can see an overview of tasks, task completion rates, and an overview of student progress.

2. Student view toggle: As in the textbook, the student view toggle is available and can be used to see how the student version of a book assignment appears.

3. Editing options - All book assignments: The “edit assignment” button in the top right of the book assignment header allows you to edit details or end the assignment without leaving the page.

4. Editing options - Scheduled book assignments: For “Scheduled” book assignments, you can change the date from the top banner, and you can edit the recipients using the button below the student progress bars.
