Reference Kognity as a website and include the relevant topic/subtopic/section and the date accessed, so it is easy to track when and where your reference came from!

Please be aware that this could look marginally different, depending on which citation style you are using at your school (e.g. APA, MLA). Our suggestion for citing Kognity would be the following:

Example: www.app.kognity.com Biology HL 1.3.2 Cholesterol Retrieved 2023-07-1

Cite in APA Style

APA website citations usually include the author, the publication date, the title of the page or article, and the URL. Kognity is a collaborative project that is regularly updated and improved, which is why we refrain from listing individual authors. In this case, you can start the citation with the title of the section you are citing and add a retrieval date.

Example:

Kognity. (n.d). 1.3.2 Cholesterol. Retrieved July 1, 2023, from

Cite in MLA Style

Kognity is a collaborative project that is regularly updated and improved, which is why we refrain from listing individual authors. When no author is listed you may omit the author information from the MLA citation for the website and begin, instead, with the title.

Example:

Cite in Chicago Style

In a full note citation for a page with no author, begin with the name of the page. In short notes and in the bibliography entry, begin with the name of the organization that published the source. If the organization’s name is the same as the website name, don’t repeat it later in the citation.
