Digital textbooks offer so many advantages over printed textbooks; when saying 'digital,' we are not referring to online versions of printed textbooks or static PDFs.

We are talking about intelligent and interactive textbooks with content that includes videos, animations, 3D models, interactive graphs and simulations. These all complement texts and pictures that are continuously updated in ‘real-time,’ without the need for printing an additional edition.

Digital textbooks allow you to use their content directly in your classroom teaching. You are also able to easily assign the material to your students; either as a whole group or on an individual basis.

The use of Kognity’s extensive reading and question assignments is extremely popular amongst our educators. Many teachers also wonder how they can best make use of the Kognity content. Once your students are obtaining high scores on the question assignments, the interactive and engaging material within the content of Kognity can also be used in your classroom by sharing your screen with the students.

Our textbooks are now more similar to what the students can see from their end. This will ensure that your students can easily identify the book location when you share your screen with them in the classroom.

You can easily distinguish which content is Core and Supplement to help your students identify and understand the requirements.

At the bottom of your Table of Contents, you will find an interactive Glossary page. You can find definitions of essential vocabulary from the IGCSE textbook. Scattered throughout the text are words highlighted in blue, which are hyperlinked to the Glossary page. This is a particularly useful resource to support your EAL (English as an additional Language) students throughout their course.

For some subjects you might find it relevant to use our Practical and Study skills boxes to discuss in class and to create great team collaboration between students.

For other subjects, you might find our interactive 3D models useful to illustrate, for example, the structure of a cell.

For all subjects, you can work together with your students on our Test Practice Questions - have your students solve the problems individually and then let them grade each other's answers with the example answer and mark scheme. Alternatively, Test practice questions can be used as a basis for class or group discussion.

And while we are in the students' practice centre - why don't you have your students battle each other? This can be done as a tournament with groups of students competing or let your students battle our Kogbot to familiarise themselves with exam stress levels as the battle is time-limited.

Good luck using Kognity's textbooks!
