Kognity's Spanish B resource enables students to build competence and confidence in their linguistic abilities through engaging multimedia texts and activities. Students can immerse themselves in Spanish language and culture through authentic texts and extracts on engaging and contemporary issues from food to the environment.
The core IB elements of TOK, CAS and International mindedness are also supported, with guiding questions as constant reminders for students to connect their learning to the global and their personal context.
There is plenty of opportunity to prepare for the IB exam in the practice centre, where the exam style questions for reading, listening and writing are enhanced by example answers, mark schemes and tips aligned to the IB syllabus.
Each subtopic begins with warm up listening and reading activities, followed by deeper learning through longer, more intensive work.
Tools that target students’ speaking, listening and writing skills
Each section includes multiple means of language representation through videos, audio, and texts extracts, accompanied by comprehension activities.
Students are encouraged to practise speaking with classmates through prompts, guiding questions, activity suggestions and a section with visual and textual stimuli (in the style of the internal oral assessment). These engaging tools are great to incorporate into your lessons!
To support students in writing Spanish, each topic includes a section dedicated to strategies, model answers and tips.
Embedded vocabulary and grammar boxes in the glossary function as well as interactive strengths questions in the practice centre allow students to build essential components of language learning.
Standard and Higher Level activities are clearly marked for both levels to ensure differentiation support.
