Kognity has expanded the platform functionality for IGCSE to give teachers and students a more enhanced Core and Extended level experience. The platform now allows teachers to better target students’ progress based on their level through appropriate content, assignment differentiation, and relevant statistics. See below for more details on the new feature!

What’s new for teachers:

Content: Teachers can now see which subjects have separate Core and Extended material and plan accordingly. Teachers can also easily switch students between the Core and Extended levels to ensure the relevant content is presented to each student.

Assignments: Teachers can send out assignments with both Core and Extended questions to all students to assess the appropriate target level for each student. Teachers can also differentiate assignments based on student level.

Statistics: On the statistics page, teachers can now see progress relative to the student’s Extended or Core level.

Class management: New students in a teacher’s class are added to the Extended level by default. A student’s level can be changed at any time, and any data related to Extended will be kept if a student who has moved to Core comes back to Extended.

What’s new for students:

Students can now view their IGCSE classes relative to the Core or Extended level. Textbook content is visible as Core or Extended, and students answer the textbook section questions as well as self study questions at their exam level.
