As a teacher, make sure the 'Student View' is active. To open up the reading assistance tool, simply click on the glasses icon located on the left-hand book rail. Once activated, you'll gain access to a host of options to customize your reading experience.
The 'Text Preferences' feature offers a wide range of options to tailor the text to your specific needs. You can enlarge the text, increase the space between letters, change the font style, adjust the theme to make reading more comfortable, especially for users with visual impairments, and even show the source formatting. These customization options are particularly useful for students who require a more personalized reading experience.
Additionally, there's a read-aloud capability with line focus, which mirrors testing accommodations for users with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). You can also adjust the voice speed to suit your preferences.
The 'Grammar Options' feature is specifically designed to assist English Language Learners (ELL). It enables users to divide words into syllables for improved comprehension. Furthermore, nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs can be highlighted in different colors to enhance understanding and language learning.
The 'Reading Preferences' icon allows you to adjust how many lines you focus on as you read. This feature is particularly helpful for those who find it easier to digest smaller chunks of text. Moreover, you can choose from a vast array of languages (up to 130!) to translate the textbook's content. This feature is a valuable resource for students who are more comfortable reading in their native language. Additionally, our picture dictionary offers further language support.
