Platform Tutorials: Duplicating a Scenario
Duplicating a Scenario
Duplicating a scenario is a great way to leverage existing settings and configurations, saving you both time and effort. It’s especially helpful once your baseline scenario has been created and validated by our expert Data Scientists. By duplicating a scenario, you can inherit the settings that have already been optimised for your product without needing to manually review each one.
However, note that if the scenario you duplicate has overrides or milestones, these will also be carried over to the new scenario. You may need to adjust or remove them as needed.
Steps to Duplicate a Scenario
Method 1: From the Scenarios Page
Navigate to the Scenarios Page
Go to the platform's Scenarios page, where you’ll see a list of existing scenarios.
Find the scenario you want to duplicate (in this case, the baseline scenario) and click the three vertical dots on the right-hand side of the scenario.
This will open a menu. Simply click Duplicate Scenario.
A prompt will appear asking you to name your new scenario. Enter the desired name and hit confirm.
Method 2: From Within a Scenario
Access Any Scenario
While you’re viewing any page within a scenario (that you want to duplicate) look for the three vertical dots at the top right-hand side of the screen.
Clicking these dots will open a menu with the same options as Method 1.
Choose Duplicate Scenario, then follow the same steps to name the new scenario.
Final Step: Processing Your New Scenario
After duplicating the scenario, you’ll be redirected to the Scenario Overview page. At first, this page won’t show any results because the scenario hasn’t been processed yet.
Update Settings
Be sure to adjust any necessary settings for the new scenario (e.g., milestones, overrides).
Process the Scenario
Once you’re ready, head back to the Scenarios page via the sidebar and hit the play button next to your new scenario to start processing it.
Method 3: via New Scenario
Navigate to the Scenarios Page
Click + New Scenario in the top right hand side:
Ensure that the duplicate from scenario button is checked and select the relevant scenario, hit Add Scenario
Then follow the steps above to ensure that it is processed
And that’s it! You’ve successfully duplicated and processed a new scenario. 🎉
