Data-driven forecasting would be nothing without the ability to visualise that data. In addition to client-specific custom dashboards, the Ramp platform includes a number of out-of-the-box, standardised reports to help you get immediate insight into the results of your forecasts.
In this article, we'll discuss the basics of the Standard Reports i.e. those provided as standard in the platform.
General Concepts
A typical report within the platform will look something like this, with a few noteworthy features:
Chart Type: toggle between line and bar type charts, on reports that support it.
Presets: switch between preset combinations of granularity and chart type e.g. from daily line charts to monthly bar charts, on reports that support it.
Filters: Limit or expand the data you’re viewing. Common filters will include Date Range, Segment or Granularity. The Product filter is automatically selected based on the product you’re viewing - we recommend not changing this filter.
Actuals: the historical data you’ve sent to our system is typically represented in dark grey.
Forecast: at the product level, this may include forecast data for multiple different scenarios; at the scenario level it will be for the selected scenario.
Series Legend: click on a series name to temporarily hide it, and click again to reveal.
Product Reports
Product-level reports provide a summary across scenarios for the same product.
Top Tip! If you don’t want a particular scenario to appear on your product-level reports, navigate to the scenario listing and click the Eye icon to the left of the scenario ID. If you see a strike-through, it’s hidden from Product reports. Click it again to unhide.
The Product reports can be found by navigating to the corresponding product-level report page in the left-hand navigation of the site:
For a full list and overview, see our Product Reports article.
Scenario Reports
Scenario-level reports provide detailed views for a specific scenario, with more drill-down options than product level reports.
The Scenario reports can be found by selecting a scenario, then navigating to the corresponding scenario-level report page in the left-hand navigation of the site:
For a full list and overview, see our Scenario Reports article.
