Our Expectations for Nannies

For nannies > General

Updated over a week ago

We're here to help you build brilliant relationships with families. Great childcare is built on trust and reliability, and families are counting on you to care for what matters most to them - their children. That's why we need all of our nannies to meet clear expectations.

What we expect from you

Throughout your time with Koru Kids, from application to working with families, we expect you to:

  • Be responsive

    • Respond promptly, promptly communicate changes, and keep your profile current

  • Be reliable

    • Attend all booked interviews and shifts on time, give plenty of notice if anything changes, and only cancel as a last resort.

  • Be professional

    • Be respectful when speaking to potential families, follow family routines, and handle any concerns honestly and calmly

  • Provide quality childcare

    • Keep children safe and engaged with age-appropriate activities, and avoid personal phone use during shifts

  • Work with us

    • Complete all required tasks and keep your checks and training up to date

How our strike system works

If these standards aren't met, we use a strike system to maintain quality across our platform.

If you receive 2 strikes, your account will be permanently suspended.

Some behaviours result in 2 strikes at once

Strike 1

We'll temporarily pause your profile until you’ve completed a 5-minute Professional Standards Quiz (which will be sent to you by email). Once complete, we'll reactivate your profile within 24 hours (Monday to Friday).

Strike 2

We'll permanently remove your profile from Koru Kids with immediate effect and email you to let you know. You'll no longer be visible to families, and any upcoming interviews or trials will be cancelled.

Please note: The table below covers the most common situations; however, there may be situations where exceptions apply.
