Guidance on the type of childcare experience you'll need to work as a Koru Kids nanny

This article has been written for the Koru Kids Nanny Service for nannies who are thinking about applying.

You do not need professional childcare experience or childcare qualifications.

You do need some childcare experience with children under the age of 12 (this can be with your own children if you are a parent), but it doesn't have to be professional. It could be babysitting, volunteering or looking after your own children. 

Some of our nannies have experience as teaching assistants or tutors or have been nannies or au pairs before, but this is not essential.

We provide free training in basic nanny skills and paediatric First Aid and carry out a DBS check as part of the Koru Kids onboarding process.

The most important thing is that you've got to be confident looking after children under 12 on your own and getting around town with them.
