Do I get a contract with Koru Kids?

How your nanny employment contract works

This article has been written for the Koru Kids Nanny Service for nannies who are thinking about applying.

What is my contract like?
Your employment contract will be with the family that you work for as an after school nanny.

Koru Kids will not be your employer.

We help nannies and families connect, and support with taking care of all the admin that comes with hiring a nanny, including but not limited to; running monthly payroll, sorting out tax and pensions responsibilities, writing contracts, providing Public Liability insurance and offering training and DBS checks for nannies.

We'll be there to support you during your time working for the family, and will offer

on-going support and advice via the Koru Kids app and dedicated support team.

How long does my contract last?
Your contract end date will vary depending on the needs of the family who employ you (the employer). Most contracts won't have an end date as families are looking for a long-term commitment, at least until the end of the school year.

Our standard contracts are for term-time only, so you won't be obligated to work during the school holidays - although of course you can do so if your family need you and you are available.

Your contract will have a standard notice period which may vary according to the preference of the family who employ you. Generally you'll be required to give 2 weeks notice, although it's great if you can give more notice to help families make alternative childcare arrangements.
