This article has been written for the Koru Kids Nanny Service for nannies who are thinking about applying.

You can start on £11.15-£14.50 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) depending on your childcare experience and locality. We’ll need to be able to check this experience with references.

You’ll need to provide the contact details of your former employers (up to 4) who can confirm the role and the dates that you’ve worked, and where possible, plenty of details about your skills and experience.

🌱 Standard Experience - starts on £11.15 - £13.35 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay), depending on your age and locality.

You’ll need to have had informal childcare experience or had professional roles that lasted less than one year.

🌿 Parental Experience - starts on £13.35 - £13.50 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay), depending on your locality.

You need to have 3+ years of raising your own family.

🌳 Professional Experience - starts on £13.50 - £14.50 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay), depending on experience, role, and locality.

  • ✨ £13.50 (inclusive of holiday pay) - 1-2 years as a teacher, teaching assistant, nursery worker, nanny (paid, full-time or after school), childminder, foster carer, au pair, lunchtime assistant or passenger assistant

  • ⭐ £13.75 - £14.00 (inclusive of holiday pay) - 2+ years as a teacher, teaching assistant, nursery worker, nanny (paid, full-time or after school), childminder, foster carer or au pair

  • 🌟 £14.00 - £14.50 (inclusive of holiday pay) - 3+ years of experience as a nanny (full-time or after school) or Ofsted registered childminder only

Please note, if you've worked in a combination of roles including as a nanny or childminder to reach over 3 years experience, you'll be eligible to start on £13.50 - £14.00.

These can be school years if your experience was in a school. It can also be cumulative experience. For example, if you worked for 8 months at a nursery and then 6 months as a teaching assistant, you would be eligible to start on £13.50 - £14.00.

If you have professional experience working with children but not in a role listed above, please do get in touch with us at care@korukids.co.uk to explain a bit more about your situation, as we may still be able to accept it.
