How to access your training sessions

Please note: It’s really important that you use the same email address for all your training with Koru Kids so we can identify your registration.

What you need to do

Complete online training

  • In the App, under the 'Career' section, click on 'Training you up'

  • There are three mandatory training courses: Nurturing little minds, Safeguarding and Creating a safe home nursery

  • There's also a course called "How to Fill Your Spaces" which gives you essential tips on how to find families so you can start earning soon after opening.

  • Click on the training course you want to start with, then click 'Start training' and then 'Get started' then complete the training

  • Your progress will be automatically saved as you go - take a break if you want to

  • You can revisit lessons as many times as you want

  • You'll need to get 100% on the assessment quizzes to complete the training

  • You can do this training on your laptop - for instructions click here

  • Once you've completed all three training courses, head to 'Test your knowledge' and then 'Reflect on your knowledge'. This is for you to have a think about how well you know the training topics.

  • Once you've completed this and signed your contract, you can book a pre-assessment call

Book your First Aid training

  • You'll need to complete Paediatric First Aid training before becoming registered. This training is both online and in-person (6 hours) with hundreds of locations all around the country. It's delivered through our partner Tigerlily and we cover the cost of your training

  • We'll book you onto First Aid training once you've passed in pre-assessment call. You can't book this before then.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule first aid in-person training, always give us at least 72 hours notice so you do not get charged (currently £83).

Book your Outdoor Learning training

Once you've passed your assessment visit you'll be invited to book your Outdoor learning training. To book this go to the 'Career' section, then 'Working with kids' then 'Outdoor learning (in person)'. You'll need to complete the online training before the in-person training.

We expect all Early Educators to complete Outdoor Learning training within 3 months of passing their assessment visit.

If you need to cancel or reschedule outdoor learning in-person training, always give us at least 72 hours notice so you do not get charged (currently £150).

Then what?

To be eligible for your pre-assessment call, you need to complete your online training. Later you will book First Aid and Outdoor learning.

What training do I need to complete and how will it help me?

This article explains all about the different training modules you need to complete to get ready for your assessment visit. It's worth giving it a read so you know what’s coming and why.

Will I receive any training materials?

You'll be able to go back and view the training again later. There are also some resources that are useful to print out during training - see our Resource List.

Do I need to do the training in any particular order?

You need to do the online training first. These modules can be done in any order.

At the end of the pre-assessment call, if you've passed we'll book you onto First Aid. Once you've passed your assessment visit you can book onto Outdoor Learning via the App.

Can you give me more information about the Paediatric First Aid training delivered by Tigerlily?

We’ve partnered with Tigerlily who will be delivering your first aid training. The course is 12 hours in total, involving:

  • a 6-hour in-person session

  • and 6 hours of online learning which you can do in your own time.

You’ll need to make sure you have childcare arranged for your own children (if necessary) when you attend this training.

If you need to cancel or reschedule first aid in-person training, always give us at least 72 hours notice so you do not get charged (currently £83).

Can you tell me more about the in-person Outdoor Learning training delivered by Liberty Woodland School?

This is one of the most important—and fun—parts of your Koru Kids training. It's a crucial part of our ethos, and what parents are going to expect from your extraordinary childcare.

This session is a full day, so you’ll need to make sure you have childcare arranged for your own children (if necessary) when you attend this training.

Don't forget to complete the online outdoor learning module before you attend the in-person day! You can find this in the App.

We have two locations - in Wimbledon and Golders Green. The sessions typically run monthly on Saturdays.

If you need to cancel or reschedule outdoor learning in-person training, always give us at least 72 hours notice so you do not get charged (currently £150).
