Below is a list of dedicated organisations who are on hand to give you free, specialist support anytime.

24hr Free Helpline

24-hour National Domestic Violence Freephone Helpline – 0808 2000 247

A service for women experiencing domestic violence, their family, friends, colleagues and others calling on their behalf. It is run in partnership between Women’s Aid and Refuge.Callers may first of all hear an answerphone message before speaking to a person.

Bright Sky app

Bright Sky is a free app providing support and information for anyone who may be in an abusive relationship, or those who are concerned about someone they know. The app provides:

  • A UK-wide directory of specialist domestic abuse support services, and the ability to call national helplines

  • A secure tool where incidents of abuse can be logged, without the content being saved on the device

  • Questionnaires to assess the safety of a relationship

Refuge

Refuge is one of the largest single providers of specialist accommodation and services to women and children escaping domestic violence, supporting over 1,000 women and children every day.

Black Association of Women Step Out (BAWSO)

BAWSO are a specialist agency which can provide culturally sensitive and appropriate information and services to black and other minority ethnic groups.

Broken Rainbow

Broken Rainbow provides support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people experiencing domestic abuse.

Karma Nirvana

Helpline: supports victims and survivors of forced marriage and honour based abuse.

Man Kind Initiative

The Man Kind Initiative is a national charity that provides help and support for male victims of domestic abuse.

Men’s Advice Line

The Men’s Advice Line offers practical advice, information and support to male victims of domestic abuse as well as concerned friends and families.

National Stalking Helpline

National Stalking Helpline provides information and guidance to anyone affected by harassment or stalking. Our helpline is open 9.30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday (except Wednesday when we open at 1p.m.) We also offer advice via email and on our Forum which can be found on our website. The National Stalking Helpline is run by Suzy Lamplugh Trust.

Southall Black Sisters

Southall Black Sisters provide advice and information on domestic abuse, racial harassment, welfare and immigration, primarily for Asian, African and African- Caribbean women.

Women’s Aid

Women’s Aid is the national domestic abuse charity that helps up to 250,000 women and children every year. They work to end violence against women and children and support over 500 domestic and sexual violence services across the country.
