A medical treatment, procedure, drug, device, or biological product is "investigational" or experimental if it is not yet recognized by the National Association of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans as accepted practice for treatment of the condition. Louisiana Blue makes no payment for experimental/investigational services.
