I recently applied for coverage. How do I make my first payment (binder payment)?

Making your first payment is a little different than from the rest of your bill payments. If you're looking to pay your regular bill, click here instead.

If you didn’t make a payment when you applied for coverage, you’ll need to make your payment in full before your coverage will start.                                                                                                                      
Off Exchange:
You must submit payment directly to your agent or you can submit by mail.

On Exchange

  1. By phone by calling 1-800-352-2583 using a credit card or ACH payment 

  2. By mail by Check or Money Order

  3. In person at the corporate or Shreveport office by Check, Money Order, ACH payment or Credit Card, or in person at any other district office by Check or Money Order

  4. Via Payment Link on Healthcare.gov which redirects to bcbsla.com                         You can pay with a credit card, a debit card or by electronic funds transfer (EFT). Please be sure to have the following on hand:
    ◦Application Number, Sub ID, and/or Exchange ID
    ◦Social Security Number
    ◦Zip Code
    ◦Birthdate
    ◦Bank or credit card information
