Lalilo is an innovative, visually engaging, standards-aligned literacy software program intended for:

  • Students who are learning to read, typically Kindergarten through Grade 2.

  • Younger children, including those in preschool, who have mastered essential vocabulary and early literacy skills, and reading instruction is now appropriate.

  • Students in grades 3–6 who have not yet mastered foundational literacy skills that help them read fluently and some additional instruction is needed.

If you have no Lalilo account yet, you can create one and browse our resources to test our lessons and exercises.

Once students master the foundational skills of learning to read that are covered by Lalilo, we recommend transitioning them to Freckle ELA.

Freckle ELA provides individualized skills practice for students reading to learn; that is, students who can read independently. The bulk of Freckle ELA’s content covers standards and skills in grades 3-8 and focuses on reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing conventions, and applied reasoning. Freckle’s interface adapts to the age of the student, which makes it easy to use Freckle ELA with younger students who are already independent readers and with high school students needing additional support. Freckle ELA can be used with any student who is reading independently and reading to learn.
