Properly preparing your art files before uploading them to Lama.co is essential to ensure the best quality of your final printed product.

Step 1: Ensure proper color mode

Fine Art (Giclée) printing requires RGB color mode, not CMYK. Set your file to RGB to maintain the color integrity of your artwork.

Step 2: Select the correct color profile

Use the Adobe 1998 or sRGB color space.

Pro tip :

  1. Go to Photoshop / Color Settings / Working Spaces / RGB

  2. Click Advanced settings box

  3. Choose preferred RGB color space Adobe RGB 1998

  4. In the Color management policies box, Choose Preserve Embedded profiles for RGB, CMYK and Gray settings.

Step 3: Choose the right file format

Your file should be saved in JPG format and weight no more than 100mo.

Step 4: Set the resolution

Your file should be "to the scale" of the print.

The width and height must match the ordered size.

Pro tip:

To check the dimensions of your file in Photoshop, click on: Image -> Image Size

The resolution of your image must be 300 dpi (dots per inch). This is a standard resolution for high-quality, detailed prints.

File preparation checklist:

  • [ ] File is in RGB color mode, specifically Adobe 1998 or sRGB colour space.

  • [ ] Image resolution is set to 300 dpi

  • [ ] Artwork is saved as a JPG file
