1. Who We Are

Alpine Blue, LLC ("Alpine Blue," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Lamplit iOS application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what choices you have.

If you have questions or concerns, you can reach us at:

Alpine Blue, LLC 1998 Thom Dr Arden Hills, Minnesota 55112 United States privacy@alpinebue.com

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Support communications. When you contact us for help, you may provide your name, email address, and a description of your issue. This is handled through Intercom (see Section 4).

  • Email address. If you opt in to our mailing list or product updates, we collect your email address through Kit (formerly ConvertKit).

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Advertising identifier. On the free tier, we or our ad network partners may use Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) to deliver and measure advertisements, subject to your consent under Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. You will be prompted for this permission when you first launch the App. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

  • Gameplay data. We collect puzzle completion status, solve times, streak counts, hint usage, and Classic Mode unlock status. This data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData and is used to power your in-app experience.

  • Purchase and entitlement data. When you make an in-app purchase (one-time unlock, puzzle packs, hint bundles, streak shields), Apple processes the transaction. We use RevenueCat to track entitlement status — that is, which purchases you have made — so the App can grant you the correct access. RevenueCat may collect a device identifier and purchase history for this purpose.

  • Usage and analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand how players use the App at an aggregate level. This may include session length, screens visited, feature interactions, and general device information (device type, OS version, language). We do not use Google Analytics to build individual advertising profiles.

  • Apple Game Center data. If you choose to connect Game Center, Apple shares a player identifier and your leaderboard scores with us under Apple's own privacy framework. We use this only to power leaderboards and achievements within the App.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your real name, physical address, or payment card details. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple.

  • We do not collect precise location data.

  • We do not collect data from users we know to be under 13 years of age.

Purchasing the one-time unlock removes all ads. See Section 4 for details on our ad network partners and your opt-out options.

4. Third-Party Services

Lamplit uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them.

Intercom

We use Intercom to power our in-app support and help center. When you contact support, Intercom receives your messages and any information you provide. Intercom may set cookies or use device identifiers to manage support sessions.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives a device identifier and your purchase history from Apple in order to confirm which products you have purchased.

Kit (formerly ConvertKit)

If you opt in to email communications from Alpine Blue, your email address is stored and managed using Kit. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase (or Google Analytics for Apps) to collect aggregate, anonymized usage data. Google may use this data in accordance with its own policies.

  • Opt-out: You may limit analytics data collection by enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" or "Allow Apps to Request to Track" on your iOS device.

Apple / App Store

All payment processing, Game Center integration, and device-level privacy controls are handled by Apple under their privacy framework.

5. Data Retention

  • Gameplay data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the App removes this data.

  • Support data is retained in Intercom for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your issue and for a reasonable period afterward for quality and legal purposes.

  • Purchase entitlement data is retained by RevenueCat for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period to handle refunds or disputes.

  • Email data is retained in Kit until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

  • Analytics data is retained per Google's standard retention settings, typically 14 months.

6. Children's Privacy

Lamplit is rated 4+ on the App Store and is designed for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Delete your personal information

  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time (unsubscribe link in any Kit email)

  • Withdraw consent for analytics data collection via iOS privacy settings

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@alpinebue.com. We will respond within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. However, sharing your IDFA with ad network partners for targeted advertising may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" under California law. You can opt out by denying ATT permission or by purchasing the one-time unlock to remove ads entirely. You also have the right to know what data we collect and to request deletion. Contact us to exercise these rights.

EEA/UK residents (GDPR): Our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (providing the App to you), legitimate interests (analytics, fraud prevention), and consent (marketing emails). You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. In-app purchases are processed exclusively by Apple and are never transmitted to or stored on our own servers. Gameplay data lives on your device. Support and email data are protected by the security practices of Intercom and Kit, respectively.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you have reason to believe your information has been compromised, please contact us.

9. International Transfers

Alpine Blue is based in the United States. If you use Lamplit from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. For material changes, we will provide notice within the App. Continued use of Lamplit after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
