There was a bug on Google Chrome that prevented LandInsight running on a fully up-to-date browser. Google acknowledged this issue and resolved it as of May 2017. Contact us if this issue persists.

Troubleshooting

This part is a bit technical, but follow the steps as they are and you should be just fine. If it still doesn't work, contact us.

There are a handful of things you can try in order to get LandInsight running on Chrome:

Note- Relaunch LandInsight on Chrome after trying out each measure to see if it worked.

1. Make sure you are using the latest version of Chrome

  • Using an older version of Chrome could be the problem.
  • Download and Install the latest version here.

2. Make sure hardware acceleration is enabled:

  • Copy and paste ‘chrome://settings’ into the address bar
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on ‘advanced’ to reveal advanced settings
  • In the System section, ensure the ‘Use hardware acceleration when available’ checkbox is checked
  • Relaunch Chrome

3. Make sure WebGL is enabled:

  • Copy and paste ‘chrome://flags’ into the address bar
  • In newer versions, this option of Disable WebGL will not be available, you will instead have to search for WebGL 2.0 (or some different version) that looks like this:
  • Here you will have to change Default to Enabled in the drop down.
  • Relaunch Chrome

4. Make sure you have the correct Chrome components:

  • Copy and paste ‘chrome://components’ into the address bar
  • Look for an entry in the list called Swift Shader
  • If you cannot find it, move to the next measure
  • If you can find it, click Check for Updates
  • Wait until it says either Component Updated or Component not Updated
  • Relaunch Chrome

5. Override Chrome Blacklist:

  • Note: This feature may cause your browser to become unstable, so use with caution. but, this fix has been known to work in a lot of cases.
  • Copy and paste ‘chrome://flags’ into the address bar
  • Activate the Override software rendering list setting
  • Relaunch Chrome

If none of the above fixes work, contact us. In the meantime you will have to use a different browser. We recommend Firefox, but Safari, Edge, or Internet Explorer will also work).
