Most CTA buttons send readers to a product page. If you'd rather skip that step, Shopify lets you build a link that adds a product to the cart, or opens checkout with the product already in it. Paste that link into any button on your Landra page.
Pick your link
There are two kinds. Both use your store's address and the ID of the exact product version you want to sell.
Straight to checkout:
https://yourstore.com/cart/VARIANT_ID:1
The reader lands on checkout with the product in their cart.Add to cart:
https://yourstore.com/cart/add?id=VARIANT_ID&quantity=1
The product goes in the cart and the reader sees your cart page, where they can add more before paying.
Replace yourstore.com with your store's domain, and VARIANT_ID with the ID of the exact product version. The 1 is the quantity. Change it to 2 to add two.
Find the ID of the exact product version
If your product has versions (sizes, colours, pack sizes):
In Shopify admin, go to Products and open your product.
Under Variants, click the version you want.
Look at the address bar. The number after
/variants/is the ID. Don't use the number after/products/. That's the product ID, and the link won't work with it.
If your product has no versions, open your product page on your store and add .js to the end of the address (for example yourstore.com/products/your-product.js). Look under variants, then id. That number is the ID. The first number on the page is the product ID. Skip it.
Can't find it? Send us the product name in chat and we'll build the finished link for you.
Add the link to your page
Open your page in the editor and click the CTA button.
Paste the link into the button's link field (CTA URL, Button URL or Button link, depending on the section).
To send every button on the page to the same link, open Settings and paste it into Send every button to (see How to change every link on your page at once).
Publish.
Good to know
Subscriptions: the straight-to-checkout link doesn't carry a subscription. For a subscription, use the add-to-cart link with your selling plan on the end:
&selling_plan=PLAN_ID. If you see a cart error instead, the plan ID is wrong. Ask us in chat and we'll find it.Sold out: these links don't check stock. If a version sells out, update the button, or readers may not be able to buy it.
Deleted and re-created products: if you delete a product and add it again, it gets a new ID and the old link stops working. Update the button with the new ID.
Test it once: after publishing, click your button on the live page and make sure the right product and quantity show up.
