Shoppable pages: your product below your article

Put your real Shopify buy box or product page right below a listicle or advertorial, so shoppers read and buy on the same page. In beta.

Written by Ezra from Landra

When you publish a page to your Shopify store, Landra can put your real product right underneath it. Readers finish your article and keep scrolling straight into your product: the same buy box, photos, reviews, subscription options and checkout your store already uses. There is nothing to rebuild and nothing to keep in sync.

Turn it on

  1. Click Publish in the editor, then choose Shopify and your store.

  2. At the top of the panel, choose Article + buy box (photos, price, options and Add to cart) or Article + product page (your whole product page).

  3. Search for your product and pick it. If a product isn't on your Online Store sales channel yet, Landra tells you, because its page may not load for shoppers.

  4. Publish as usual.

The right side of the panel, What shoppers see, shows the page top to bottom as you change your choices. Landra uses the product page template that product already has in your theme, so it looks exactly like your normal product page.

The link to use in your ads

With a product attached, the panel shows two links. The Shoppable link for your ads looks like yourstore.com/products/your-product?view=landra-…: that is your article with the product below it. Use it in your ads. Search engines treat it as your product page, so it never competes with it. The Article link shows the article on its own, without the product.

Buttons scroll to the product

On the shoppable link, buttons in your article that point at the same product scroll the reader down to it instead of reloading the page. Buttons that point somewhere else, like a discount link, a specific variant or another product, keep working as you set them.

Store header and footer

Use the Store header and footer switch, the same as on any Shopify page. On: your store header sits above the article and your footer below the product. Off: both stay hidden, and Add to cart still uses your store's cart. Your page's disclaimer always sits at the bottom, below the product.

It's in beta

Shoppable pages work on most Shopify themes, but they can look a little different from one theme to the next. Hover the BETA label on either card and click Message us if something looks off, and we'll fix it fast.

Keeping it up to date

  • Prices, photos, variants and stock always come live from Shopify.

  • If you change the layout of your product page in Shopify's theme editor, press Update in Landra to pick up the new layout.

  • If you switch to a different Shopify theme, the Publish panel tells you the article is missing. Press Update to add it back.

  • Turning off Live on your store removes the article from the link. The product page itself stays live, as it always is.

  • To switch between the buy box and the whole product page, pick the other card and press Update. To remove the product, pick Article and press Update.

If Landra can't add your product

  • "Uses all 25 sections Shopify allows": Shopify lets a product page have at most 25 sections, and Landra needs one for your article. Choose Article + buy box, or remove a section from that product's template in the theme editor, then try again.

  • "Couldn't find the buy box": your theme lays out its product page in a way Landra can't read safely. Choose Article + product page instead.

  • "An older Shopify format": that product's page uses an older kind of theme template. This needs an Online Store 2.0 template.

  • "A draft or archived": make the product active in Shopify, or pick another product.

  • "Landra needs access to your products": open your store connection in the Publish panel and click Refresh permissions.

If one of these comes up on a page that already has a product, Landra still updates your page and leaves the product as it was.
