Always consult your on-site Laser Safety Officer (LSO) for specific guidance. Required optical density (OD) and laser safety personal protective equipment (PPE) are determined based on worst-case scenarios and require professional judgment. All laser safety equipment provided is intended for diffused beam viewing only.
For the Keyence MD-X2000A, which has an operating beam at a wavelength of 1064nm with an output of 13W, we recommend using a laser safety window specifically designed for Class 4 lasers. Our 435 line of laser safety windows is well-suited for this purpose. You can view the product here. The 420 and 480 lines are also effective options.
Laser safety glasses are always needed when working with a Class 4 laser to ensure full protection. According to Keyence's documentation, the 683nm laser is a distance laser beam (Class 3R), and the guide laser at 655nm (Class 2) functions as an aiming beam. For more details on the difference between an aiming beam and an operating beam, you can read our article here.
