Always consult your on-site Laser Safety Officer (LSO) for specific guidance. Required optical density (OD) and laser safety personal protective equipment (PPE) are determined based on worst-case scenarios and require professional judgment. All laser safety equipment provided is intended for diffused beam viewing only.
Here is Keyence's documentation from their website: https://www.keyence.com/products/mark...

The 683nm wavelength laser with a 5.0mW output refers to the distance laser beam, not the operating beam, listed as a Class 3R laser. Keyence also lists a guide laser at 655nm with an output of 1mW listed as a Class 2 laser. The guide laser is also known as an aiming beam. Please see our article on the difference between an aiming beam and an operating beam: https://lasersafetyindustries.com/blo...

You need a laser safety window and eyewear to protect you from the laser operating beam.

The Keyence Laser marker MD-X2000A has an operating wavelength 1064nm with an output 13W. We recommend our 435 line of laser safety windows, please see here: https://lasersafetyindustries.com/col... Our 420 line and 480 laser safety windows are also sufficient.
