The easiest way to see prices for our insurance is via the sign-up form on our website or via the app. On the website, click on "Find best tariff" to get a quote for your pet's insurance with Lassie, or click the button below!

What factors are included in the price calculation?

๐Ÿ”Information about your animal

We will ask for information about your animal. Here is some helpful information on what to take into account when answering the questions:

  • The information provided in the online sign-up must be true and correct as of the time of the sign-up/ start of the insurance.

  • Chip numbers, registration numbers and the like are not required for the purchase of the insurance, but the chip number is required in the event of a claim.

๐Ÿพ Breed

We will ask what breed your animal is, but don't worry - No pedigree is required to buy insurance with us! ๐Ÿ˜‰

If your pet is pedigree, or mostly one particular breed, we suggest you choose that breed. Otherwise:

๐Ÿ˜บ Cats:

If your cat is a mixed breed, you can choose "Mischling". There is no need to enter a most prominent breed - This applies for cats that are a mix of two purebred parents, as well as cats of unknown origin/breed.

๐Ÿถ Dogs:

If your dog is a mixed breed dog then you need to choose "Mischling" (mixed breed), then select the most prominent breed, and second most prominent breed (e.g. Poodle x Spaniel).

For dogs adopted from shelters, we understand that it may be very difficult or even impossible to name a most prominent breed. If you're not sure what breed your dog might be, our customer service team will be more than happy to help you!

๐Ÿ‘‰ Send us a picture of your dog standing up, preferably from the side. Multiple pictures are welcome! It's also helpful for us to know their weight and height at the withers, as well as what country the dog comes from.

You can then specify one of the suggested breeds as most prominent, and enter "unknown" as the second breed.

โšค Sex and neutered/castrated

We will ask the sex of your pet, and whether your pet is neutered. Here, you must choose the one that corresponds to the current castration status of your pet at the time the insurance starts.

If you plan to neuter or castrate your animal after the start of the insurance, choose "not castrated". You can then contact us after your animal is castrated, and we will change it in your insurance. The price will then be slightly reduced!

โš ๏ธ Please note: A chemical castration (e.g. with the Suprelorin chip) does not count as a true castration. In this case, please also choose "not castrated".

๐Ÿˆ Indoor/outdoor cat

If you have a cat, we will also ask if it is an indoor or outdoor cat. Here the same applies as for the castration status - it is important to answer correctly with the current access status so that the insurance applies.

If your cat is currently an indoor cat, but you plan to give them outdoor access later (e.g. when they are older, or when they have gotten used to your new home), please choose "indoor" when purchasing the insurance, then contact our customer service team to change this for you once the cat has outdoor access.

โ„น๏ธ Important: You should choose an outdoor cat, even if the cat is on a leash when outside, or only allowed outside when supervised.

๐ŸŽ‚ Birthdate

Please enter the date of birth of your pet using dd.mm.yyyy format.

If you do not know the exact date of birth (e.g. you have adopted your pet from a shelter) then use the date provided on the documentation (for example, in the contract you received from the shelter, or on their pet passport).

๐Ÿ“Your PLZ / ZIP Code

Where you live plays a role in the cost of veterinary care, and therefore slightly impacts the price of the insurance. For example, in big cities, vet costs are usually slightly higher on average than they are in more rural locations.

Which insurance policy should I choose?

After answering the questions, you will be taken to the overview of our insurance options. Here you can see how the price is affected by the package or deductible you choose.
