I'm not sure if my cat would be considered an outdoor or indoor cat. What are the rules?

If your cat has access to the outdoors in a secured, enclosed area (e.g. an outdoor enclosure such as a 'catio' or cat-run in your garden), cannot roam freely, and does not come into contact with other animals, we consider them a house cat, not an outdoor cat. 😊😸

If your cat usually stays indoors, but you take them outside for walks on a leash, or they have outdoor access without secure containment (even if you supervise them) they are classified as an outdoor cat.

⚠️ Important: If a cat registered with Lassie as an indoor cat has an accident or falls ill while outdoors, coverage may not apply.
