Reimbursement Rate: What is it and how does it work ? πŸ’Έ

For each of our plans, you can choose the reimbursement rate that suits you best. We explain everything here πŸ’™

Updated over a month ago

The reimbursement rate is the percentage we reimburse on the bill sent to you. This rate applies to all Lassie plans for accidents and illnesses - Gold, Silver, or Bronze. You can choose between the following reimbursement rates when subscribing: 60%, 80%, or 100%.

Here’s an example of an 80% reimbursement rate:

If you choose an 80% reimbursement rate, you will have to pay 20% of the veterinary fees.

After a consultation at the vet, you receive a bill of €200, and you chose an 80% reimbursement rate when you signed the contract.

This means that Lassie will reimburse you €160 (80% reimbursement rate of €200 = €160, which we will reimburse).

So your contribution to the bill is the difference between the two: 200-160 = 40, meaning you will pay €40.

Note: The reimbursement rate chosen when subscribing does not apply to the preventive budget. The total amount of the preventive budget is allocated based on the option you selected: €100, €160, or €220 annually. It offers a 100% reimbursement for preventive care, up to this limit.

The benefit for you: You pay a lower insurance premium. With a 100% reimbursement rate, Lassie covers 100% of the reimbursable costs in case of damage, meaning you pay no extra costs. For this reason, the insurance premium is slightly higher than with a 60% or 80% reimbursement rate.
