What is a Director ID?

A unique identification number assigned to company directors in Australia

The Director ID is a unique number that is used to verify the identity of a person who is appointed a company director.

You will have to apply for your Director ID via the ABRS website. This is a free application, and you will only need to apply for the director ID once in your life.

ie, if you have an ID from a previous company, you do not need a different one.

Please note, that you will need to apply for company director before you are appointed as a director.

Every director in the company will need to have a Director ID

Platform: Add Director ID

You can keep a record of your Director ID and have it stored with your company documents and available should it be required for auditing purposes.

You can add it to your company information on your Lawpath account, simply head to Registrations > (Your Company Name) > Scroll down to 'Company Cap Table' > View cap table > Scroll down to Officeholders > Add/edit director ID
