If you enter into a VDI session within VMWare or Citrix and your screen is black:
Check the MAX Resolution and Scaling
For example via larger monitors if you encounter and black screen after logging in, in this example the Resolution was set to 3820x2160 and 1505% scaling.
To resolve, Change to: 1920x1200 Resolution and 100% Scaling
