Purchase limits

You can set a minimum and maximum amount of tickets that can be bought in one basket. These are recommended if your event is very popular, or if you’re using teams or relays.

For relay / team style events you need to apply the correct purchase limits for each ticket. For example set a minimum and maximum of 1 and 1 for Solo entry, 2 and 2 for pair entry and the same goes for the minimum and maximum number for members of a team. These limits can be configured under each ticket and prevent people accidentally purchasing the wrong entry / attempting to enter a team larger or smaller than the advertised team capacity.

Basket restrictions

You can create basket restrictions to ensure that certain tickets are bought with others. For example, if you run family based events that require adults and children to enter together, and there has to be a maximum number of children per adult to ensure the children’s safety. Or, if you'd like to mandate volunteer sign-ups alongside team entries. This feature allows you to choose which tickets must be bought together, and set a minimum and maximum number of those tickets.

How to set up a basket restriction

  1. First, you need to enable Multibuy on your event. Go to Manage Event > Event Details tab and scroll to Sales Options. You can limit this to multiple tickets within your event, or all tickets across other events where multibuy is enabled. Click update and save.

  2. Navigate to the Tickets tab, and Basket Restrictions will appear in the list below when you create or edit a ticket. Go to your chosen event > Manage Event > Tickets tab > Select your ticket and click the edit icon or click the ‘Add ticket’ button

2. Scroll down to the section titled ‘Purchase Limits’

3. Open Advanced settings

4. Click the ‘Add basket restrictions’ button which will open a modal

5. In the modal you can configure your restriction

6. Click Save

7. Your basket restriction will appear in the list

8. From here, you can edit or delete your basket restriction using the three-dot menu

Considerations

  • There is no limit to the amount of basket restrictions you can create

  • However, you cannot set up more than one basket restriction with the same Mandatory Additional Ticket

Booking form error message

You can customise the error message that will be shown to participants when they haven’t met the restriction. This will appear on the ticket selection page of the booking form, as below. It’s very important that this message is clear and brief. If it’s too long and confusing, it could negatively affect your event’s conversion rate. If you have any questions, please contact partnersuccess@letsdothis.com

If a ticket cannot be bought on it's own

If a specific ticket such as a Child's ticket cannot be bought on it's own, you will need to let us know and we will make sure this works with your basket restrictions. The settings for this feature are coming soon, in the meantime you will need to email partnersuccess@letsdothis.com to create this rule.

For example

There must be at least one adult for every 3 children

  1. Navigate to the Adult Entry ticket

  2. Select Purchase Limit, and set the ratio to 1:unlimited (this means that there must be at least 1 adult ticket in every basket)

  3. Open Advanced Settings

  4. Add a basket restriction

  5. Set the Mandatory Additional Ticket to be 'Child Entry'

  6. Set the minimum to be 0 (or leave blank) and the maximum to be 3:

This means that Adult tickets can be bought on their own. But if they add a child ticket to the basket, they can only add a maximum of 3 per Adult Entry. If you add another Adult to the basket, you can add another 3 child tickets.
