I disconnected a Sales Enablement email and now I cannot view full email messages on prospect timeline. Why is that?

If you disconnect a connected email account, you will not be able to view the entire messages content synced from that account any more.

For security reasons, Lead Liaison does not store the entire message content, and we just store the basic information about the message (Subject, Snippet, Recipients, etc...). The full content of the message plus any attachments are requested on the fly when the user expands the message.
