Passive Activity (Not Publishable Yet)

Understand what a Passive activity is in Lean PlanDo

There are two types of activities. 

  1. Passive activity – The passive activity exhibits its existence in the master plan to show its dependency on or off other Activities, but the project team can avoid updating its progress as it will be taken care by the system automatically. The activity is completed as planned but its progress scope is not included in the overall project progress. Whenever the project team wants to ignore updating any activity but keep it in the masterplan to maintain the dependencies it has with other activities they can make use of this functionality.

  2. Normal Activity – The activity which is under the scope of the Masterplan. It contributes to the overall project progress calculations. 

To make an Activity passive, 

  • Tick on the Passive Activity box and click Save

  • A Passive Activity will be shown in Grey Color in the Gantt Chart under Masterplan and Lookahead.

  • A Passive Activity can be changed back to Normal Activity by un-checking the option, provided that the activity has not started.
