In the Masterplan, we can add dependencies (relationships) between the activities.

Adding dependency on an activity makes the activity successor or predecessor to another activity.

The following steps will guide you to add activity dependencies:

  • Double click on the the activity bar, click Dependency List and click +Add New Dependency. (Or)

  • Click on the boxes at the start of end of activity bars in the Gantt Chart

  • Click + Add New Dependency

  • Change between Predecessor or Successor tabs to add either of them

  • Select the dependency name - by searching with the Activity Name or WBS number (see Fig. 2)

  • Select the Dependency type (FF, FS, SS or SF)

  • Enter the Lag

  • Click Save

  • Repeat the process to add multiple dependencies

  • You can also Click and drag from the start/end box of an activity to another activity's start/end box to link up activities. (See Video below)

Lag:

Lag refers to the amount of time (in days) that is added between a predecessor activity and its successor. A lag of 2 between two activities having a Finish-Start relationship means that the successor activity starts 2 days after the predecessor ends. Keep in mind that Lean PlanDo does not support Negative lag time.

The steps to add task dependency is similar to adding activity dependency, please read 4.8 Add Task Dependency to check how to add task dependency.
