  1. Delay/Advance Activity which has not started:

An activity that has not started can be delayed or advanced based on the actual work progress on site.

Check out the following steps to Delay / Advance Activity:

  • Double click on the Activity bar in Gantt chart and click the Edit (Pencil) button

  • Setting Start Date to the past of existing Start Date will advance the Activity and setting it to the future will delay the start of the Activity

  • To delay an Activity end date, increase its duration

  • If an activity with a predecessor is advanced, that particular dependency is disabled automatically to advance the activity.

  • Any change done will be reflected in the Masterplan immediately

Note: A delayed Activity will affect the Start Date of its successor activity and might delay the End Date of the Project if it is present in the critical path.

2. Delay/Advance Activity which has already started:

When an activity has already started (in progress) but not yet completed, its Remaining Early Start (RES) can be delayed or advanced, based on the site conditions. This will help project teams to resume work on an activity on some other day if unexpected conditions like weather forces them to stop work suddenly for few days.

The steps to Delay / Advance a Task are similar to Delay / Advance of Activity. Read 4.8 Delay Task / Advance task for more details.
