Constraints consists of one or more steps that represent the individual work / steps to be done in order to complete a constraint. They are the actual prerequisites under a constraint

  • Last Step Due Date = Activity Constraint Due Date

  • There are three sections in a Step: Status, Due Date and Assignee

The following steps guide you to Edit Steps in a Constraint:

  • Double-click on the Constraint (indicated by a circle and in-lined with it's activity)

  • Click Pencil (Edit) on the step that you want to edit

  • To assign user, select the user in user drop down menu

  • To edit the due date, click the calendar in the due date box, select the desired date

  • To set the status, click the Circle to set Done or Not Done. For Done, select the date that the step was done.

  • Click Tick after making necessary changes.

Editing a constraint step can be done in both the Masterplan and the Lookahead.

Two types of delay descriptions

When a step is delayed, there will be a Running Man logo to indicate that it has been delayed.

The first constraint has a Running Man with only the outer red lining, which indicates that the constraint has been delayed, but it did not affect the activity/task start date. There is enough float between the constraint and activity/task for the ETA.

The second constraint has a Solid Red Running Man which indicates that the delay to the constraint has affected the activity/task.
