Committed tasks progress needs to be updated everyday.

If the tasks are in percentage, we can update the progress of tasks on a day to day basis by adding the percentage of work completed in a day.

You can update the progress of a task via the Mini Widget (in Do List) or the Detailed View (in both Lookahead and Do List). The following steps guide you to Mark Progress via the Mini Widget in the Do List:

  • Click on the task in the Gantt chart in Do list

  • Check boxes for marking progress window will appear

  • Enter the progress

  • Click Save

In the above task, it is set to start on 19th and end on 21st (denoted by the orange circles). If work is done as planned, you can either click each day and update the overall progress done, or click all three circles and input 100 on the last day, in this case, 21st and click save to update the progress. (refer to figure below)

There can be cases where the work started earlier, say 17th. You can update the progress for 17th as well by clicking the circle for 17th and update the progress.

In the case where you worked on 19th and 21st but not on the 20th, you can also denote that by only clicking on 19th and 21st, which will automatically denote that 20th was the 'non-working zone'. (refer to figure below)

If you could not start the task on time and only started on 21st, you can also do so by clicking on the circle of 21st and update the progress. This will also allow you to increase the duration of the task using the "Remaining duration needed" box. The number of days put in this box will be the extra duration added to the task. When you click save, this will automatically trigger you to give a delay reason since the task did not finish on time and has to be extended.

Clicking on the "Clear Entry" will remove all input done in the progress update.

Clicking on the "Show Schedule info" will show the Expected Start date, duration and End date if the task has not been started. If it is a task in progress, it will show the Actual start date, expected total duration and end date, remaining early start date, remaining duration, and remaining work quantity/percentage.

All these steps described above can also be done via the Detailed View in both the Lookahead and Do List as well. To access the Do List, click on the "View all details" via the Mini Widget or double-click on the task bar.

One feature that is only available in the Detailed View is the Progress History, where the progress update history for the task will be captured. For tasks in progress, the progress input from the previous weeks will also be available here.

To learn how to reset the progress update, refer to article Reset Progress.
