4.1.3 Task features in Lookahead

Know all the features available under a task in Lean PlanDo Lookahead

There are two menus for each task: Detailed View and Mini Widget. (This applies to Activities and Constraints as well)

To access the Detailed View of a task, 

  • Double-click on the Task bar that you want to access to see a Detailed View pane pop from the right side.

  • The features available under the Task are shown in the left column of the Detailed View. Move cursor to the respective icons for descriptions.

Description on each Task Features: 

  • Edit  - To edit task name, start date, duration, sequence number of the task.

  • Commit Task - Commit the task to the Do Week. Commitment allows the user to update progress to the task.

  • Assign User - Company In Charge and supervisor (from main contractor) will be assigned to monitor project team and sub-contractors' works fall under the task. This is to ensure that the responsible party to monitor the status of the task closely. 

  • Overview - Shows the base and actual start/end dates and duration of the task

  • Quantity - add Quantity to a Task, in order to quantify the Task, as indication in % is hard to visualize. 

  • Dependency List - Tasks dependencies can be edited on its relationship and lag or disabled by un-click on the box or deleted. Type of relationship and lag will be required to create the task dependency.

  • Comments - Add or view comments 

  • Attachments - Add or view attachments such as photos and documents

  • Progress Update - Update the daily progress of the task

  • Constraints List - Add or view constraints assigned to the task. Addition of a new constraint is also available here.

To access the Mini Widget of a task,

  • Single click on the Task bar in the Gantt Chart

  • Features available for the task in the Mini Widget are Adding Constraint and Deleting the task.

  • You can also go to the Detailed View via this, by clicking the Expand button on the top right corner.
