The purpose of committing a Task to Do List is to take up the work for the Do Week. Getting users committed to their work is a process that makes projects productive and develops a positive culture within the team. Sub-contractors and site supervisors together review the current week’s plan and commit for only the achievable work for that week.

Only constraint free tasks can be committed to the Do List. Tasks which enter the Do Week can be committed to the Do List to update the progress for that week. In other words, all constraints associated with the task must be in Done State.

The task is represented in orange once you commit it and it will start appearing in the weekly Do List.

The following steps guide you to Commit a Task to Do Week:

  • Click on the task bar in the Gannt chart to open the Mini Widget

  • Enable the Commit button

  • (OR)

  • Double click on the task bar to open the Detailed View

  • Enable the commit button on the top right side of the menu

Once a Task is committed, the Task bar will be shown in Orange.

Click on the Do List tab, the Task Committed for this week will be shown.

A committed Task's start date or duration can be changed before updating its progress. Refer to article on 4.7 Edit Task. Once progress is updated, its duration can be changed as it will have an actual start which cannot be changed unless the progress is reset from Do List.
