This article will show you how to link your activities from the Masterplan to the corresponding elements in the BIM model. If you do not know how to import your BIM model to Lean PlanDo + BIM, read this.

To link the activities to the BIM model, enter the linking mode by clicking on the Linking mode button on the top left corner. You can see that you have entered the linking mode as per the title shown.

Next, select the activity or BIM element that you want to link. This will open up the mapping menu that has a button called 'Start mapping'. Since there are no links yet, it will say 'No Elements/Artifacts mapped yet'. Click 'Start mapping' to start the process.

If you are mapping from the activity, you will have to select the element from the BIM model. Of course, if you are mapping from the BIM element, you will have to select the activity. You can select multiple elements or activities at this point.

After selection is done, you can review your selections in the mapping menu. If you have made a mistake or do not want the mapping, you can delete it here.

Once you are satisfied with your selection, click on the 'Done Mapping' button. A message that says 'Linking Success' will be shown and now you are done with the mapping. The activity that you mapped will now show how many elements are mapped to it beside the name of the activity.

If you click on the activity again, you will reopen the mapping menu and the mapped elements will be highlighted in the BIM model.

Once you are done with the linking mode, click 'Back to view mode' to exit. Now, clicking the activity will isolate the elements that are mapped in the BIM model for better view. Similarly, clicking on the element will highlight the activity that it is linked in the Masterplan.
